R Butts R Smokin’ BBQ started out as a competition BBQ team in 2004. We are still competing in BBQ contests, but we also distribute our award-winning rubs and cook great BBQ for special events and parties!

Our start in BBQ goes back to our childhood days in the Northern Ozark hills of Missouri. Weekends were often spent with families and friends around a BBQ pit with some hickory wood cooking some BBQ. Fast forward several years. Gene and Randy decide that they can cook some pretty good BBQ and begin competing on the KCBS circuit. Our first competition BBQ was a humbling experience, but with determination, 17 Grand Championships is the result.

With our success in competition BBQ, we decided to offer some of our award winning rubs for sale to the public, several years ago. Our rub sales continue to grow, with more folks trying and using our award winning rubs; Ozark Heat, Butt Kick’n Chicken, R Beef Rub, R Steak Rub, Honey Chipotle, and Cherry Habanero. We think our rubs are some of the finest rubs on the market and you won’t be disappointed. As the Christmas season approaches, our rubs make great stocking stuffers and also can spice up your holiday cooking!

The 2019 BBQ competition season is in the books! The R Butts R Smokin team added to the Grand Championship count with a win at Rock N Ribs BBQ Festival in Springfield MO. Many individual awards in meat categories as the rubs and the new Yoder smokers were a great combination.
